Police are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at 9.30am on Tuesday 11 April, at the junction of Clarence Street and Crescent Place, Cheltenham.
The collision was between a Citroen Relay driven by a 40-year-old man from Oxfordshire which claimed the life of 34-year-old Anna Rys (pictured). The hairdresser was killed as she was walking to work at her salon, Hairs Atalia, in Clarence Street, shortly after getting off the bus from Bishop’s Cleeve, where she had lived with her fiancé Piotr Koniuszewski. Sadly, because of her injuries and despite the best efforts from emergency medical teams, Ms Rys was pronounced dead at the scene. The roads remained closed for 5 ½ hours while officers from the Tri-force Specialist Operations Collaboration conducted a detailed investigation.
