The traditional Topping Off ceremony has taken place at Cirencester’s newest retirement village and care home – Stratton Court.

Aura Care Living and their construction company – Aura Care Construct, are in the process of building the village that boasts 31, one, two and two plus bedroom apartments and a 61 bed and 12 bed CCU care home with on-site lifestyle facilities that include its own café – bar, a library and an IT suite. Now the last stone is in place work can begin on the landscaping and interiors. “It has been an incredibly quick and efficient build, we started here in November 2016,” said Aura Care Construct Managing Director John Penn. There have been 180 operatives on site at any one time and tens of thousands of Cotswold stone and blocks have been put into place.

The ceremony was led by Lyth Watson of Octopus Health Care, who are the investors in the giant project. Lyth Watson, Director of Development, Octopus Healthcare is proud of the development saying, “This a true best-in-class retirement and care development, meticulously designed with the customer at the heart of every aspect of the development. The care home, luxury retirement apartments and the range of care services available have all been considered to support the demands of the local population and changing needs of the care community. The team at Octopus Healthcare is excited to be working with the visionary team at Aura Care Living on a number of other care environments across the country”.

John Penn said: “It is the first of a new generation of luxury retirement neighbourhoods, planned in response to major market demand by those wishing to retire in the Cotswolds. It will create an innovative, stylish and vibrant community for over 55’s who wish to plan and shape their retirement to exact needs and standards, whilst continuing to live autonomous, purposeful lives. “In over 30 years in the building industry this is the first time I have delivered a project that we will be part of for many years to come as we look to construct more of these for Aura Care Living. The vision of Aura has been instrumental and inspirational, and we are already looking at other projects,” he added.

The development is expected to be complete later in the year with residents moving into Stratton Court in December 2017. For more information/book viewings contact 01285 283132 or email: enquiries@auracareliving.com
