A Cheltenham-based accountancy firm has been acquired by the Walsall-headquartered Baldwins Accountancy Group. Davies Mayers Barnett is the latest practice to join the group’s South West region, which has grown to five offices following expansion over the last 12 months.
The 70-strong business has revenues of more than £3.5m. Baldwins, part of the Cogital Group, has an annual turnover of more than £90m and employs about 1,500 people. Tim Davies, senior partner at Davies Mayers Barnett, said: “This year we are celebrating our 25th anniversary and it seems appropriate that we are now starting a new era in our history. “This is a great opportunity to grow our business, which will be enhanced by the investment capacity and specialisms within Baldwins. We already have an excellent team of professionals here at Pillar House and we will be aiming to increase recruitment to push forward and achieve our growth plans.”
Shaun Knight, director of Baldwins, added: “Davies Mayers Barnett has a strong team of partners and directors making up their senior management team and has built a great reputation not only in Cheltenham, but throughout Gloucestershire and its neighbouring counties over the last 25 years.” “Our support and investment will benefit their clients, since we will be able to provide assistance in strengthening the quality and range of services they offer, which will help both businesses to expand.”
