We are now officially half way through the season at Cheltenham, and what a fantastic eight days of action we have had so far since it kicked off in October.
Next up is the final raceday before The Festival, Festival Trials Day which takes place on Saturday 27th January. It’s the final chance that the trainers have to run their horses at the Home of Jump Racing before the big meeting in mid-March and many of the races are seen as key trials for The Festival.
The highlight on the card is the BetBright Trials Cotswold Chase, which often sees horses running before they then appear in the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup. Alongside the BetBright Trial Cotswold Chase there are six other races to enjoy, four of which will also be shown on ITV Racing. It will then just be six weeks until this year’s Festival, where over 260,000 people visit the racecourse and the wider Cheltenham area to enjoy once of the finest sporting occasions.
This year’s Festival takes place between 13-16th March, and it is gearing up to be as exciting as usual with the equine superstars heading to the Cotswolds to battle it out for the honours, with 28 races and over £4.5million in prize money.
