Some of Cheltenham’s best-loved independent retailers are coming together for a major sale this month.
Cheltenham Business Improvement District (BID) has brought together nine businesses for Cheltenham’s Independents Sale from 11am to 4pm on Sunday January 28 in the Princess Hall at Cheltenham Ladies College. Some shops will cut as much as 75 per cent off the normal price of some goods. Admission to the event is free. Last year, more than 500 shoppers attended the BID’s Boutique Sale and picked up some great bargains.
Women’s and men’s clothing, shoes, jewellery and travel goods will all be available this year. The businesses taking part are: Beards, Bodega, Boutique 3, Enekes, James of Montpellier, Keith Scarrott Shoes, Love It, Sandra Dee and The Union Project. Sophie Scarrott, director of Keith Scarrott Shoes, said: “It’s a great opportunity for us to get together in one place and offer some fantastic savings. We’re looking forward to welcoming both regular and new customers.”
Kevan Blackadder, BID director, said: “The BID aims to support the town’s businesses in many ways, and that includes our independents. “They aren’t able to run one-off sale events in the same way that some national retailers do, and we wanted to give them this opportunity. We’ve been delighted with the response and have signed up some great names. “There is the added attraction that the event is being held in the iconic setting of Princess Hall at Cheltenham Ladies College this year. For anyone who hasn’t been able to visit the college before, that will be a great experience as well.” That event was entirely fashion-based last year but has been broadened this year for the benefit of both.
