Gloucestershire’s two main hospitals have been given £39.5m – to update buildings and services. Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal have been awarded the money by NHS England, as part of £760m funding nationally.
At the GRH a new three-storey building will be built and the A&E department will be re-designed and extended. Cheltenham General will receive two new theatres at the main hospital site. Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust says it’ll reduce waiting – speeding up diagnosis, and treatment.
