A Cheltenham woman has been sentenced to 12 years for sexual offences against children.
Pauline Long, 60 of Overton Road in Cheltenham, committed the non-recent offences as Paul
Long, but has since changed sex. She was found guilty at trial in Bristol Crown Court earlier last month to a total of eight sexual offences against a boy and a girl including indecent assaults, taking indecent images and forcing a child to watch sexual activity. Detective Constable Jon Youdan said:
“This is a very satisfying result. The girl was 7 and the boy 10 when the offences started and they continued for years. “
Their bravery in coming forward was humbling and I really hope the outcome encourages more victims to have enough confidence in the criminal justice system to report such crimes. “Long terrorised these children for her own sexual gratification. She was a bully and a monster to them and it’s good that she’s now behind bars where she can’t cause any further harm.”
